Same thing for me Activison logo plays and then nothing happens after that, and eventually game crashes. Started for me yesterday.

I ended up manually uninstalling and reinstalling my display drivers.
It seemed to work after that, so I assume there was a problem during the previous update.
My problem was the game was trying to launch in VR mode. I put -nohmd in the launch options and that fixed the problem for me.
Hi just wondering if anyone managed to solve this issue? Tried -nohmd and reinstalled graphics driver, but no joy.
I am able to get into the game and menu, but as soon as I load one of the three games it just says "The Adventure Continues" then goes black and I can see the cursor when I move my mouse and hear sounds, but the screen is black.
I get a black screen after loading the game. The cursor is visible and can be moved with the mouse but no logos ever appear/menu doesn't appear/etc.
I have an Oculus Rift connected which previously caused audio issues with this game... I wonder if something else related to the VR component is breaking it again. I also tried the -nohmd launch option parameter w/ no success.
EDIT: Just to clarify, the game used to work for me up until a few days ago when I tried playing it again.

Update: I had previously disabled my Oculus audio device to force the game to play audio from my main audio output, because this game tries to play audio out of the Oculus headset instead of my speakers.
I tried enabling the Oculus audio again, and now the game loads. But obviously, I don't want to play it w/ the headset on.
In my opinion, this game is broken because of this... why does it try to use VR? Does anyone know how to disable the game from recognizing VR?
SOLUTION: Right-click on the game in Steam and select Properties. I verified game files, then I unchecked "Use Desktop Game Theater in VR" and "Use Steam Overlay" in the game options, and then removed the "-nohmd" launch parameter, and now the game loads and audio properly plays from my main speakers! Hope this helps.
Ok I solved my issue. Black screen was due to a conflict with a Video codec pack I downloaded and installed. Once I uninstalled this, the videos loaded and no more black screen.

Seconding this solution! I just ran into this issue after months of the nohmd fix causing absolutely zero problems, and I only unchecked "Use Desktop Game Theater in VR" while removing the nohmd option. Thumbs up for the help.
Where do i find the nohmd removal option? I'm having the same issue
